In fact, they moved to Florida in July of 2019 and opened the Pie Shop just a few months later.Īfter careers as a physician and a nurse, owning several small businesses, and raising a wonderful son, Conner, Julie and Joe are right back to where it all started. It was a natural choice to open their shop in Panama City Beach. They fell in love with the beaches and decided that as soon as they were able, they would retire here. They were engaged in Destin and no matter where they were living, they always vacationed and spent summers on the Panhandle. Julie and Joe have lived in seven cities in four states throughout their 35 years of marriage. In the late 1990s to early 2000s there were talks about an outdoor shopping complex on Panama City Beach that would be adjacent to the Gulf Front with retail stores, dining options, and a movie theatre. TownePlace Suites Panama City Beach Pier Park is centrally located to many area businesses like Aaron Besant Park, Panama City Beach, PCB Sports Complex, Frank Brown Park and much more. Buttermilk Sky Pie uses the finest ingredients, just like Julie was taught years ago. Pier Park is a lifestyle center in Panama City Beach, Florida.It opened in 2008 and features Dillard's, J. Julie has always baked and recognizes baking is a science and ingredients matter. They fell in love with the pies, the thumbprint cookies and, more importantly, loved the heart and soul of the brand. Julie and Joe became familiar with Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop when visiting the original location in Knoxville, TN.
